Frequently Asked Questions
What is Remote Online Notarization?
Remote Online Notarization (RON) is a process that allows individuals to obtain notarization for their document(s) remotely via a virtual meeting with a commissioned notary public on a secure online platform.
Similarly to Zoom, you will meet face to face on a virtual platform, you will then verify your identity, go through your document, sign and notarize.
RON is recognized and accepted nationwide, you do not need to be in the same state as your notary. If you’re uncertain about it, ask the party you are turning your document in to if they accept remote online notarized documents or if they require wet signatures.
Requirements for RON:
Valid government issued identification.
Strong internet signal/connection.
Smartphone or computer with video and audio capability - you and your notary must be able to see and hear each other.
My Notary Co recommends sending your document to your notary prior to meeting online so they can upload and pre-tag the document, making the online meeting much more efficient.
$25 per document
*Some platforms may charge a small fee for additional signers.
For mobile notary services, what is your travel fee?
$15 for meeting at Ziggi’s (Mead) or Starbucks (I-25 Frontage Rd., Firestone).
$35 for on-site signings with a 20 mile radius.
Above are the general travel fees, they do vary by distance. We value your time and ours, and will always try to keep our rates affordable while covering our costs.
What if I can’t print my document(s)?
No problem, we can help with that! You can email your docs to us prior to the meeting or if it’s sensitive information, let us know and we’ll send you a secure link to upload them to.
1-4 pages is no charge.
$5 for 5-30 pages.
$10 for 31-50 pages.
$15 for 51-90 pages.
$20 for 91-150 pages.
Black/white prints only. We always stock letter and legal sized paper.
What if I have questions or disagree with my document(s)?
A popular notary mantra is, “we do not advise, we notarize” with good reason. We are not lawyers and cannot give any type of legal advice or opinion. You should be informed and understand your documents fully before contacting a notary for service.
Of course if something comes up during your signing appointment, we will gladly assist you in contacting or wait while you call your lawyer/lender/advisor to clarify any concerns.
What’s the best way to contact or schedule with you?
Fill out the form on the Book Now page, email or text is best.
Please understand that if we miss your call, it’s likely because we’re in a meeting with another client or unable to answer the phone at that moment. You can leave a voicemail and we’ll call you back OR go ahead and send a text - we may not be able to answer a call right away but can almost always send out a quick text.
